As long as he can remember, Pete Graybeal has felt a need to perform. From the earliest school report cards, giving such comments as “Peter feels he must always be the center of attention” and “Peter feels a need to call attention to himself, and away from the teacher” and such similar notes.

Peter’s first career on the stage started with his triumphant debut in the Mason Middle School 8th grade production of THE BRIDGES AND THE LUMBERJACKS as the evil robber baron intent on taking over the woods for his own nefarious needs. A promising career cut short by the fact that his high school only produced musicals.

Fast forward a few years, Peter moved to the bustling arts metropolis of Columbus, OH. While giving a roommate a ride to an audition for a Shakespeare show, the director asked him if he wanted to play a part. This enabled him to carry a much bigger Columbus Theatre legend! (In a large laundry basket).

Now, 15 years later, Peter has gone from having one line “Anon.” to working with some of the brightest and best actors in the Central Ohio area in many amazing productions (and two really bad ones). Through Acting, Assistant Directing, Writing, Directing, Stage Managing, Special Effects Creation, Sound and Video creation and wrangling, Working in the tech booth, building sets, destroying sets, 24’s, 48’s, weddings, birthday, corporate and bar performances with his pals in Full Frontal Nudity, staged and improved, going on tour to Indianapolis, Chicago and New York City with shows, discovering a disturbing new fascination with singing in front of people and branching out into the visual arts with the MadLab Gallery. The possibilities for learning, growing and being the center of attention have been limitless!

Some of Peter’s favorite roles and shows have been Mortimer in ARSENIC AND OLD LACE, Santa in FFN’s THE STORY OF CARL, MadLab’s experimental piece WHITE HEAT, a police officer in Chris Lane’s “Cut and Dried” (ROULETTE 2001), Elvis in Noel Wolfgram Evans’ “The Restaurant” (ROULETTE 2001) and Jason Dahmer’s groundbreaking film EXHAUSTING THE KING, and so many more than will fit in this space.
