Written in contemporary iambic pentameter, SOUND & FURY is a radical reconstruction of Shakespeare’s infamous “cursed play”, in which ancient Scottish history is replaced by the 21st century American Presidential politics of candidates MacBeth and Duncan, artificial intelligence finally becomes more intelligent than artificial through the character of Lady MacBeth, and the question is not so much whether the pen is mightier than the sword, but whether fiction and fact have finally fucked and, in the process, given birth to a new level of Orwellian (sur)reality in which 3 + 3 does equal seven, war is indeed peace, and consensus is the ultimate arbiter of Everything.
