White heat
White Heat
A hardcore treatment of the snuff film mentality that is characteristic of so much of modern media and political demagoguery, WHITE HEAT is staged as the live taping before a studio audience of a reality TV show in which the “contestant” is manipulated into first killing and then being killed. Performed as it is during the 2000 presidential campaign, with video of the debates serving as part of the audio/visual “white noise” backdrop for the performance. The show sublimates its politics to the point where the troupe thinks they’re barely avoiding tiresome didacticism; to their chagrin, some of the audience seems to be getting off on exactly what was being critiqued.
