travis horsemanIn his career, Travis Horseman has been an actor, a produced playwright, a director, and occasionally all three at once. He has acted in projects ranging from touring children's puppet theater to Off-Broadway to new works at the Humana Festival of New American Plays. When not pursuing theater, Travis is hard at work on his second passion: Amiculus: A Secret History, a graphic novel series set in ancient Rome. (www.amiculusrome.com).

tay laneTay Lane holds bachelors degrees in Philosophy and Classics (Ancient Greek Translation) from Ohio University. In addition, she has three years of graduate school training in Philosophy from OU and Northwestern University. Tay actively collaborates with OG Productions (OGP) as an actor, writer, and director, and was previously a member of the ensemble with MadLab Theatre and Gallery from 2008-2013. She has written nine short plays that have been produced locally by OGP and MadLab. She has also directed more than 20 shorts, including Mark Cornell's, "All the Answers," which was nominated for Best New Work by the Central Ohio Theatre Critics Roundtable in 2010. Tay has met many wonderful people on her artistic journey and treasures them all for what they taught her and made her learn about herself, most especially every lesson from her beloved Chris Lane.

chris leyvaChris Leyva is a playwright, director, and podcast host (Writers Get Animated). His plays “The Throne of Oz” (based on the book "The Marvelous Land of Oz" by L. Frank Baum) and “Cowgirls Don’t Ride Zebras” both premiered at CATCO is Kids in Columbus, OH. His plays “A World Without Allergies: A Talk by Dr. Kramer” and “Dinosaur Discovery: A Talk by Dr. Kramer” both have premiered as part of MadLab Theatre’s Theatre Roulette. He was the 2013/2014 recipient of the CATCO and Greater Columbus Arts Council Playwright Fellowship with his play “Books & Bridges.” He received an M.F.A. from The University of Iowa, a B.A. in Directing from Coe College, and is a member of the Dramatists Guild.

Ella PalardiA proud member of the Columbus theatre community, Ella is thrilled to be participating as a Mentor for the 2019 Young Writer's Program! Onstage she has appeared in productions with CATCO, Actor's Theatre, Columbus Civic Theatre, and more. Her MadLab credits include Theatre Roulette 2017 and 2018. Ella has written for OG Productions, and various sketch comedy projects. She studies and performs improv at The Nest Theatre, and can be heard daily on "The Ella and Dave Morning Show" on KOOL 101.7 FM.

Julie Whitney ScottJulie Whitney-Scott is a published Ohio author, poet, radio host for
WGRN FM, freelance writer who has written over forty articles for The Columbus Free Press, theatre director, producer, playwright, actress and is currently a Resident Teaching Artist for Columbus Children’s Theatre in Columbus, OH where she teaches Introduction to Theatre, Playwriting 101, and Musical Theatre 101 to students in grades K-12. Julie has a BS degree in Counseling from Franklin University in Ohio. Her production company, Mine 4 God Productions, is a member of Theatre Roundtable and has produced over fourteen full staged plays written by Julie which include Secrets of a Dark Skin Sister, A Church Divided Can’t Multiply, and Woes of a Black Race. Julie is the co-founder, Artistic Director, playwright and actress of the SunTheatre Troupe which is a group of local actors that perform one act plays at lunch/dinner venues throughout Ohio. Julie is also the founder and Artistic Director for the Columbus Black Theatre Festival which celebrated its seventh year in 2019. Julie has shared her playwriting, directing, stage management, cinematographer, theatre teaching and acting talents with theatre companies throughout central Ohio which include Columbus Children’s Theatre, State of the Arts Productions, DNGinc Productions, JB3 Entertainments, CATCO, Past Productions, Red Herring Productions, God Is Drama, Stage Right Theatrics, West Grandview Fringe Festival 2019 and her one act play Why Are You Here was selected and produced at the Two XX Sketch Women’s Writing Festival 2019. Julie has a passion for teaching both youth and adults playwriting and acting skills that allow each artist to tap into their own individual creativity, talents and gifts. |
jeremy sonyJeremy Sony earned his M.F.A. in Playwriting from Ohio University, where he was recipient of the Scott McPherson Playwriting Award and Anthony Trisolini Graduate Fellowship. His plays have been produced at Street Theatre Company, Curtain Players, MadLab, Available Light, Little Theatre Off Broadway and Luna Theatre, as well as developed at theaters around the country including Nashville Rep, Penobscot Theater, and the Last Frontier Theatre Conference. stephen woosleyStephen Woosley is a long time contributor to MadLab as an actor, director, writer, ensemble member, board member, and publicity team chair among other roles. He has had his work performed by OGP, MadLab, Mind the Gap Theatre and Strangedog Theatre. He has also written a number of sketches for MadLab's Too Much Christmas series (2005-2007) and The Sketch Show. He has a cat named Chloe.
